Cardiovascular Insights is an Active Participant in the Heart for the World Foundation

The foundation of the Ocala Heart Institute, Heart for the World Foundation, exists to minister to a sick and hurting world. Education, training and providing indigent medical care both domestically and in several foreign countries are the key elements of the organization. Performed in love as a ministry in service to God, these endeavors are meant to change lives, both physically and spiritually.

For the past 12 years surgical teams have been traveling to China to train doctors and perform open-heart procedures. As recently as this year, we have expanded our efforts to three locations across China. To aid in the training process, Chinese medical teams come to Ocala twice a year to observe the latest techniques.

In addition to China, OHI teams are also active in eastern Europe and Africa.

Being in contact with a number of missionaries around the world, the foundation is a resource for assisting field workers in matching critically ill children and adults with specialty hospitals for appropriate care. We have limited funds currently available for this purpose, but we remain hopeful new sources will open up in the future.
